ACE event University of Exeter
3rd February 2018
ACE and the University of Exeter are putting together an event for teachers and their students to find out more about studying ancient Greek and Roman civilisation, history, thought, literature, art and archaeology.
Students will have the opportunity to take part in a number of interactive sessions on ancient drama, Greek myth, and ancient urban legends, and to learn some Spartan military tactics.
Teachers will hear some short presentations from leading Exeter academics on ancient drama, literature and architecture, and have the chance to find out more about introducing classical subjects onto the curriculum, including the support available for doing so.
The day will culminate in a talk by chief culture writer for the Guardian, Charlotte Higgins, on the continued relevance of Classics in the ancient world.
The event is aimed at students in Year 10-13.
The event can be booked here (using the password Classics03.02.18). If you would like to attend with a group of students please book your places by Friday 12th January 2018.
